We share with you how to prevent the problem of split ends

  • Long hair especially, is more susceptible to the hair splitting in two at the ends because it is exposed to a lot of friction. Not only do split ends make your hair look untidy, they are also a sign of over-processed and damaged hair.

Split ends may have many causes, such as the use of hair products that are not suitable for your hair, mechanical stress due to friction (hair contact with fabrics), rough combing or brushing and exposure to excessive heat (use of hair dryers, curling irons and straighteners). Under such conditions split ends are almost inevitable especially if the hair ends are rarely cut.

  • Split Hair End Remedies

Once you have split ends, unfortunately the only way to completely get rid of the problem, is to have your hair trimmed - preventing split ends is a lot easier!

Using a good conditioner that is suitable for your hair type is the best place to start! You can choose from our range of essence ULTÎME Conditioners  that will suit your hair type best. If your hair is very dry and damaged, you will need a more intensive conditioner.

Equally important is your hair styling tools. Always use top quality combs and brushes - natural bristles are great for untangling hair with minimal damage.

Heat styling tools (blow driers, straighteners and curling tongs) should have adjustable heat settings and used only be used on the lowest heat settings. Before using any heat styling tools, be sure to spray damp hair with got2b Guardian Angel for Heat protection up to 220°C.

Hair and hair ends are especially prone to splitting when wet. Care is therefore necessary when drying hair or toweling it dry - dab it rather than rub the hair dry!

We would also recommend using essence ULTÎME Omega Repair Intensive mask once a week in your hair care regime. This mask will help to repair split ends in just 1 minute and leave hair silky smooth – also the perfect time saver!

Once hair has been dried and styled, make sure you use a finishing oil to complete your look. This will smooth down any split ends and make them appear less obvious. got2b Oil-licious Styling Oil is perfect to apply to the mid-lengths and ends of your hair and will leave your hair smelling great! If you have finer hair, an oil mist may be more suitable to your hair type. As an alternative, spritz hair with got2b Oil-licious Dry Oil Mist to finish your style.
