Many women may consider hair padding and structure creating styling accessories outdated. However, these styling tools have never completely lost their place in the hair styling world. The models for fashion designer Alena Akhmadullina, the rising star in the Russian fashion scene, certainly turned heads wearing padded chignons right on top of their heads. Alena likes to experiment with folk inspired elements and saturated colours so the tightly structured chignon sitting centre on the models heads suits her style. This was achieved using a hair donut.

Hair padding comes in many shapes, sizes and colours. The most commonly known styling accessory is the hair donut. With the different sizes and colours available, it is easy to find the right donut for your hair. For example, if you have longer hair, try using a larger donut. You can also apply some wax into your hair before styling in order to secure perfect hold and create a sleek look. Make sure the donut is completely covered by either your hair or a hair piece.

Hair Padding to Give Hair Styles Extra Hold:

Padding is your go to if your hairstyle requires a tight structure. For a perfect finish apply a stronghold hairspray to your style.

Hair Padding to Achieve the Desired Shape:

Do you remember soft curlers? They used to be the solution for the overnight styling of curls or waves. Soft and pliable foam curlers can also double as oblong hair padding. Before styling, distribute some hair mousse through your hair for added volume and hold.

    High Volume Updos:

Hair padding is a necessity if you are partial to high-volume updos. The size of the padding and the length of your hair determine how much volume you can add to your updo, i.e. the longer your hair and the larger the styling accessory, the larger the up do! In order to add shine to your elegant updo apply hair oil before styling.
