Balayage, taken from the French word meaning “to sweep”…oh la la. As balayage highlights are less systematically placed, you end up with fatter, less symmetrical, more random highlights, resulting in a more casual, beachy finish. It’s a great option if you like the look of chunkier highlights with more contrast and less blonde.
Style Tip: Use our got2b Salt Spray to finish off the casual summer look for heavenly beach waves.
Ombré now Sombré
The demand for dark roots and lighter ends started a few years back and featured quite a stark dark-to-light fade – making Sombré (“subtle ombré”) a much more subtle take on the dip-dye trend.
A Sombré look has lighter sections that start up a bit higher and the lower lengths have sections of dark colour for a more gradual transition.
Style Tip: No need for touch ups, this look is strictly a low-maintenance affair.
As opposed to splashlights – which see sharp flashes of laser-like blonde on dark tresses – babylights are much finer.
The hair is separated into tiny sections and colour is applied to each group of strands and left for more than an hour. It can take a bit of time but you’ll have a more multifaceted, natural-looking colour. Basically, it’s recreating the hair colour you had when you were a precious young one.
Style Tip: This one is for the blondes! Why not try this look with our LIVE Max Blonde
